The South Dakota Physical Therapy Association is a chapter of the The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), which is an individual membership professional organization representing more than 100,000 member physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs), and students of physical therapy. APTA seeks to improve the health and quality of life of individuals in society by advancing physical therapist practice, education, and research, and by increasing the awareness and understanding of physical therapy's role in the nation's health care system.
The South Dakota State Medical Association is a professional organization of physicians, residents and medical students who are all dedicated to protecting the health care interests of patients and enhancing the effectiveness of physicians throughout South Dakota.
The SDSMA’s mission is to promote the art and science of medicine, protect and improve the health of the public, and advocate for the well-being of patients and the best environment for physicians to advance quality health care. We promote medical knowledge and science, high standards of medical education, medical ethics and competence in the art of healing, the protection and enhancement of the physician-patient relationship and promote improved access to and delivery of quality medical care, and an understanding between the public and the medical profession.
SDOS's mission is to promote the arts and sciences of orthopaedic medicine, protect and improve the health of the public, provide leadership and advocacy in the field of quality orthpaedic medical care, and protect the healthcare interests of the orthopaedic medical community in South Dakota.
